Job description

Position Title: Coatings Tech/Painter

Wage: $19.00 - $22.00/Hour

Shift: 2nd Shift

Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday - Friday

As a Coatings Technician, you'll play a key role in surface preparation and coating application, ensuring products meet customer expectations and quality standards. Coatings Tech/Painter Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain processing equipment such as HVLP spray guns, electrostatic powder guns, fixtures, hoists, measurement devices, and vapor degreasing equipment.
2. Apply coatings uniformly to meet specified film thickness and customer requirements.
3. Assist in inventory control of coating materials, supplies, and equipment.
4. Adhere to documents and process controls, including contract review, customer-specific requirements, work instructions, test data, inspection reports, and procedures.
5. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections; coordinate with Quality Department regarding quality concerns.
6. Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S and lean principles.
7. Provide cross-functional support and perform additional duties as needed to meet organizational goals.
8. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to support personal and company growth.

Requirements for Coatings Tech/Painter:

1. 1-3 years of experience in coatings application, surface preparation, or related manufacturing roles.
2. Experience with processing equipment such as HVLP spray guns, electrostatic powder guns, and vapor degreasing equipment is preferred.
3. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in coatings or manufacturing is a plus.
4. Proficiency with PC and company-specific software.
5. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is advantageous.
6. Effective communication skills in English; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
