Job summary

Danvers Ford is seeking an Automotive Mobile Service Technician with a strong mechanical background and basic programming skills to join our team. You’ll travel in a Mobile Service Van to customer homes/workplaces to perform basic mechanical services, diagnostics, and recalls, applying programming knowledge to support software updates and connected vehicle systems.

B-level technician experience and Ford certifications are preferred but not required; ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred; Ford certs desirable but not mandatory.
• B-level or higher qualifications preferred.
• Proficient in computer diagnostics and programming.
• Strong mechanical background; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.
• Engage with many customers daily and represent the dealership.
• Organize and prepare for the day’s appointments and manage time effectively.
• Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance per repair order in a clean, efficient manner.
• Communicate with the Mobile Service Coordinator, Parts Department and Dealer Management regularly.
• Accurately document vehicle repairs/work performed on the repair order.
• Stay informed of Ford technical bulletins and complete required training.
• Able to work in challenging weather conditions; drive and maintain a company vehicle.
• Take pride in the role and bring a start-up mentality to growing the business.
• AccessPTS for all technician, vehicle capacities, specifications and OASIS Monitoring.

This role is ideal for an independent, self-motivated individual who can deliver quality service in the field. Daily tasks include traveling in a Mobile Service Van to customer homes and workplaces to perform basic mechanical services, diagnostics, and recalls. You’ll also apply your programming knowledge to support software updates, diagnostic tools, and connected vehicle systems. B-level technician experience and ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Automotive Mobile Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty and have a natural disposition to put the customer first
• Engage with many different customers each day and represent the dealership while being calm and responsive
• Organize and prepare for the day’s appointments and be excellent at time management
• Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order in a clean and efficient manner
• Communicate with the Mobile Service Coordinator, Parts Department and Dealer Management regularly to effectively manage production and customer communication
• Accurately document vehicle repairs/work performed on the repair order
• Stay informed of Ford technical bulletins and complete required training
• Able to work occasionally in challenging weather conditions
• Able to drive and maintain a company vehicle responsibly
• Take pride in the role and bring a start-up mentality to growing the business
• AccessPTS for all technician, vehicle capacities, specifications and OASIS Monitoring (searching for any FSA’s)

Automotive Mobile Service Technician Qualifications:

• ASE/Manufacturer certifications - Ford certifications are desirable but not mandatory
• B-level or higher qualifications preferred
• Proficient in computer diagnostics and programming
• Strong Mechanical Background
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Requires little or no guidance on jobs
• Valid driver license
• Service Technician experience preferred
• Strong use of technological devices including tablets
• Ability to program modules, performDTC’s Retrieval, and possible PID interpretation
• Must be able to perform physical taste and lift up to 100 pounds
