Job summary

Auto Plus is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer service. You will explain diagnoses to customers and co-workers, stay up-to-date with evolving automotive tech, and mentor teammates.

The role emphasizes safe, organized shop practices and adherence to policy. In this position, you will continually learn new techniques, assist others, and maintain a clean shop while meeting performance standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months of automotive problem-solving and repair experience required.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment to specifications.
• Perform duties of lower positions (General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
