Job summary
Pep Boys Careers in the United States is seeking an Automotive Mechanic who will inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers, and mentor junior staff as needed.
You will stay updated with evolving automotive technology, perform maintenance, follow safety rules, and keep a clean, organized shop.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 6 months automotive repair experience required.
- Section 609 Certification preferred.
- State Inspection license if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems to specifications (brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension/alignment).
- Perform duties of General Service Technician as needed.
- Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and non-mechanical staff.
- Stay current with automotive technology through formal training and self-learning.
- Assist other technicians and keep management informed of repair issues.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to company policies and safety/environmental rules.
