Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a Materials Manager with strong background in automotive manufacturing. You will oversee on-time shipment of finished goods, manage inventory levels, and coordinate purchasing, distribution of raw materials, and supporting production schedules.

You will lead procurement, develop procedures for supplier performance, and implement visual inventory systems to ensure uninterrupted production and timely deliveries. Strong ERP knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must have recent experience in an Automotive Manufacturing plant.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares purchasing system instructions and purchasing procedures.
• Directs issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine material availability.
• Reviews purchase orders and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arranges disposal of surplus materials.
• Develops systems for purchasing, scheduling, inventory control and traffic for uninterrupted production.
• Establishes plant purchasing procedures aligned with policies.
• Develops supplier requirements to improve timeliness and delivery.
• Implements visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintains inventories to ensure availability of materials and parts.
• Sets guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Assists in inventory budgets and management of inventories at approved levels.
• Handles changes during model year for orderly transition in parts flow.
• Supports Vendor Quality Assurance program.
• Resolves disposition of substandard or rejected materials.
• Coordinates product changes with suppliers and customers for start-up of production.
• Ensures on-time delivery of supplies for uninterrupted production.
• Implements computer technology for orderly manufacture and on-time delivery.
• Maintains Bill of Material and databases for manufacturing system software.
