Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing, distribution of raw materials, and supplies.
• Direct preparation and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions for material availability.
• Review purchase orders and contracts for policy conformance.
• Arrange disposal of surplus materials.
• Develop systems for purchasing, scheduling, inventory control, and traffic.
• Establish and administer plant purchasing procedures.
• Improve supplier timeliness and delivery through process changes.
• Implement visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintain inventories to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time shipment.
• Set guidelines with suppliers to balance cost and steady material flow.
• Assist in budgeting for inventory levels and performance controls.
• Handle engineering changes during model year transitions with suppliers and customers.
• Support Vendor Quality Assurance program with Plant Engineering.
• Address disposition of substandard materials.
• Coordinate product changes with parts and suppliers to ensure start-up timelines.
