The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and recent automotive manufacturing plant experience, with strong leadership and ERP proficiency. Excellent communication skills and a results-oriented mindset are essential.

Responsibilities

• Directs purchasing system instructions and procedures.
• Issues purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions for material availability.
• Reviews purchase orders and contracts for policy conformance.
• Arranges disposal of surplus materials.
• Designs systems for purchasing, scheduling, inventory control and traffic.
• Administers plant purchasing procedures.
• Develops supplier requirements to improve delivery timeliness.
• Implements visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintains inventories to ensure material availability.
• Sets guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Assists in inventory budgeting and management.
• Develops procedures for engineering changes during model year.
• Supports Vendor Quality Assurance program.
• Resolves disposition of substandard materials.
• Coordinates product changes with suppliers and customers for start-up.
• Ensures on-time delivery for production and finished goods.
• Adapts and implements computer technology for orderly manufacture and on-time delivery.
• Maintains BOM and databases to support manufacturing software.
• Employs continuous improvement methods.
• Complies with safety policies.
