Ashton North LLC is seeking a Materials Manager to supervise on-time finished goods shipping, freight handling, and raw material storage in a high‑volume automotive environment. You will coordinate purchasing, distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies to sustain production schedules.

The role requires leadership, practical ERP experience, and a proven ability to optimize inventory levels while driving cost reductions and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepares instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Directs issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions for material availability.
• Reviews PO claims and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
• Designs systems and procedures for purchasing, scheduling, inventory control and traffic.
• Develops plant purchasing procedures aligned with policies.
• Develops supplier requirements to improve timeliness of delivery.
• Implements visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintains inventories to ensure material availability for production.
• Guides suppliers to improve cost savings and steady material flow.
• Assists in developing inventory budgets and operating controls.
• Develops procedures for engineering changes during model year.
• Supports Vendor Quality Assurance program with Plant Engineering and Quality.
• Resolves substandard or rejected materials disposition.
• Coordinates product changes to ensure timely production startup.
• Ensures on-time delivery of supplies for uninterrupted production.
• Adapts computer technology to enable orderly manufacturing and delivery.
• Maintains BOM and databases to support manufacturing software.
• Applies continuous improvement methods.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures.
