Philips Recruiting Services / Philips Automotive Recruiting is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead material planning, production scheduling, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and overall material flow in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing operation.

This role ensures materials are available to support production requirements while maintaining accurate inventory, efficient material movement, and strong customer delivery performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive materials, production control, planning, or supply chain experience within manufacturing.
  • Automotive manufacturing/supplier experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material flow.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and automotive customer requirements.
  • Experience managing and developing materials, logistics, warehouse, or production control teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing customer and production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead material planning, production scheduling, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material flow activities.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer requirements, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are available and positioned to support uninterrupted production.
  • Manage inventory levels and accuracy while identifying opportunities to reduce excess inventory and improve inventory turns.
  • Oversee warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound material requirements to support production and customer delivery expectations.
  • Monitor customer releases, forecasts, and schedule changes and communicate requirements throughout the organization.
  • Drive improvements in material flow, warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and scheduling effectiveness.
  • Lead cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and potential customer delivery issues.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Customer Service, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Develop and lead the materials team while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory, logistics, material handling, and plant efficiency.

Position Summary
