Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. seeks a Materials Manager to oversee on-time shipment of finished goods, freight, and raw material inventory in a complex automotive manufacturing environment. You will coordinate purchasing, distribution, and materials flow to support production schedules.

With a Bachelor's degree and a proven track record in automotive plants, you will lead purchasing procedures, supplier relationships, ERP systems, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; automotive manufacturing experience.
• Recent experience in Automotive Manufacturing plant.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate to a diverse audience (customers, suppliers, employees).
• Results oriented with broad base supply chain management knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and PC software skills including ERP knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Strong time management skills and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Directs purchasing and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market conditions to determine material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
• Develops systems for purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and traffic.
• Maintains and improves supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Ensures supplies are delivered on time to support uninterrupted production and shipment of finished goods.
• Maintains BOM and supports manufacturing system software and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with Plant Engineering and Quality teams on vendor quality and changes.
• Coordinates changes in parts and materials with suppliers to ensure smooth startups.
