Job summary

Midas - Touch of Gold in Indiana is seeking an Automotive Manager in Training / Service Writer. This developmental role trains you to handle phone calls, set appointments, interact with customers, and assist with basic service and sales while preparing to manage a store.

You will deliver excellent customer service, oversee vehicle inspections, discuss pricing, and work toward promotions from within. A background in automotive knowledge, strong communication, and a drive to lead a team are valued.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of store or service manager experience is preferred but not required
• General automotive knowledge
• Excellent customer service disposition

• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while listening to and consulting customers
• Following up with customers, services requested, estimated completion times etc.
• Oversee complete vehicle inspections and then make comprehensive recommendations—building computerized repair orders and sourcing parts
• Deliver and discuss pricing estimates with customers as well as promoting shop service specials
• Oversee technicians’ inspections, diagnosing and repairing of domestic, European and Asian cars and light trucks
• Maintain inventory counts
• Overall cleanliness and organization of the facility
• Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and very basic technician jobs
• Other duties as assigned

Hourly Pay plus Bonuses; $45-$65K+ Annually! At Midas we are dedicated to providing quality services to customer vehicles in the areas of inspection, diagnosis and repair utilizing the expertise attained through ASE Certifications and/or years of automotive repair experience.

Performance Based Pay

• Base pay plus Overtime
• PLUS Weekly bonus commissions based on store performance (on top of guaranteed bi-weekly commission)
