Job summary

Midas in Crawfordsville, IN is seeking an Automotive Manager in Training / Service Writer to develop into a Store Manager. You will assist with service advising, scheduling, and customer interaction while learning pricing, parts sourcing, and basic shop operations.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in store or service manager roles preferred but not required.
• Solid automotive knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem solving.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills for customer and team interactions.
• Proven leadership and ability to coach a team.
• Experience building teams and supporting a positive work environment.
• Ability to follow established processes and guidelines.
• Proficiency with computers and automotive software.
• Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and consult customers on services.
• Follow up with customers on services requested and estimated completion times.
• Oversee vehicle inspections and prepare repair orders with pricing.
• Discuss pricing estimates and promote shop service specials.
• Oversee technicians’ inspections, diagnoses and repairs on various vehicle types.
• Maintain inventory counts and shop cleanliness.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

Hourly Pay plus Bonuses; $45-$65K+ Annually! At Midas we are dedicated to providing quality services to customer vehicles in the areas of inspection, diagnosis and repair utilizing the expertise attained through ASE Certifications and/or years of automotive repair experience.

We are looking for Automotive Managers in Training/ Service Writers. This position is a Store Manager developmental role, but will help with basic service and sales while also training to handle phone calls, set appointments, and interact with customers. Midas is committed to training our associates and promoting from within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while listening to and consulting customers
• Following up with customers, services requested, estimated completion times etc.
• Oversee complete vehicle inspections and then make comprehensive recommendations—building computerized repair orders and sourcing parts
• Deliver and discuss pricing estimates with customers as well as promoting shop service specials
• Oversee technicians’ inspections, diagnosing and repairing of domestic, European and Asian cars and light trucks
• Maintain inventory counts
• Overall cleanliness and organization of the facility
• Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and very basic technician jobs
• Other duties as assigned

Performance Based Pay

• Base pay plus Overtime
• PLUS Weekly bonus commissions based on store performance (on top of guaranteed bi-weekly commission)
