Job summary

Napleton Volkswagen of Sanford is seeking a License & Title Clerk to support our sales teams by processing vehicle registrations. This role handles tax and title documents, submits transfer work to the DMV, and ensures lienholders are paid off before titles are issued.

We offer a pay range of $20.00–$25.00 per hour plus a hiring bonus up to $3,000, depending on experience, along with medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, paid vacation and sick time, paid training, and vehicle/service discounts.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years+ License & Title experience (preferred) or automotive dealership experience.
• Knowledge of CDK/ADP Dealer Service system strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local laws/regulations.
• 18+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Process all vehicles for registration in the state of titling.
• Prepare tax and title documents.
• Submit all legal transfer work to the DMV.
• Verify funds are collected and lienholder paid off before processing titles.
• Check accuracy of applications and ensure information is complete.
• Prepare payoff checks for new vehicles and trades.
• Bill dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.
• Maintain system to verify out-of-state titles.
• Report status of missing or problem titles to management and comptroller.

Job Responsibilities:

• Processes all vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled.
• Prepares tax and title documents.
• Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lienholder paid off before processing title applications.
• Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information is complete.
• Prepares payoff checks for new vehicles and trade-ins.
• Bills out all dealer trades and prepares Certificates of Origin.
• Maintains a system to verify out-of-state titles.
• Compiles and maintains a complete list of all outstanding title work. Reports to management on the status of any missing or problem titles and provides a current list of outstanding titles to the comptroller at the end of month.

Job Requirements:

• 1-3 years+ of License & Title experience PreferredAutomotive Dealership experience
• Knowledge of CDK/ADP Dealer Service system strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
