Job summary

Stark State College seeks a Lab Technician in the Automotive, Transportation, and CDL Department to support lab equipment, machines, vehicles, and materials, with a focus on optimizing lab organization, maintenance, and safe operations. The technician reports to the department chair and handles all aspects of the lab's needs.

You will facilitate equipment and supply orders, stock and inventory laboratory supplies, prepare labs, maintain satellite labs, and provide technical support as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; 2–5 years of automotive, service, technical, or lab experience with maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• General routine maintenance on lab vehicles, machines, and equipment.
• Ordering supplies as needed.
• Recommend modifying or updating laboratory materials; obtain quotes.
• Provide technical support when necessary.
• Sort, file, label, verify tooling, fixtures, and tooling bins.
• Receive new components and materials; sort and store in labs.
• Clean and maintain components; keep rooms organized.
• Conduct inventory and maintain reports for supervisor and instructors.
• Manage pickup and delivery of materials, tools, vehicles, and fixtures for labs.
• Inspect components for damage and report to supervisor.
