Job summary

Columbus State Community College is seeking an Automotive Lab Technician for the Columbus Campus. The role performs diagnostic services, minor repairs, and maintains tools and equipment to support automotive laboratory activities.

Responsibilities include distributing and tracking tools, maintaining lab inventory, assisting instructors, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of the lab. The position is full time with hourly pay of $23.49.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with automotive training.
• 1–3 years of experience servicing and repairing vehicles or working with tools/parts.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to gain access to work site; forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Distributes tools and equipment to students for classroom and laboratory use; documents disbursements and stores tools.
• Cleans tools, equipment, and lab area; opens/closes lab and secures equipment.
• Performs diagnostic services and minor vehicle repairs; maintains and replaces tools as needed.
• Maintains inventory of tools, equipment, stock items, and vehicles; processes requisitions and bids.
• Assists instructors, prepares training materials and sets up vehicles and training aids.
