Job summary

Nippon Seiki North America in Auburn Hills, MI seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to review customer requirements and develop comprehensive IPC/HUD designs, including 3D models, drawings, and GD&T. You will analyze test data and deliver engineering changes following DES standards.

Requirements include 2–6 years in automotive design, CATIA/UG proficiency, GD&T, FEA (ABAQUS), and experience with optical design tools like OPTIS/LightTools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2-6 years automotive design experience required.
• Experience with CATIA/UG CAD software.
• FEA knowledge in vibration and thermal analysis; ABAQUS preferred.
• Experience with optical design; Optis/LightTools preferred.
• GD&T and Stack-up Analysis required.

Responsibilities

• Support lead engineers in IPC HUD design, including 3D models, drawings, and GD&T.
• Perform optical design and simulation using light tools.
• Conduct structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses (FEA).
• Prepare technical reports and present to customers as needed.
• Assist in pre-production checks and post-development support.
• Interface with customers to understand design requirements and compile reports.
