Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled field technician to install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment. You will service light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, and trailers, performing 12V/24V wiring and secure routing for neat installations.

Travel to customer sites for on-site/mobile projects while maintaining safety and high-quality workmanship. Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.

Job description

Requirements

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
Professional communication and customer service skills
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers
21+ years of age
Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience preferred
Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms preferred
12V/24V electrical experience preferred
Commercial truck or trailer experience preferred
ADAS scanning or calibration experience preferred
ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications preferred
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions
