Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a mobile installation technician to outfit fleets with GPS, ELDs, telematics, cameras, and sensors. This role includes wiring, testing, and documenting each installation on commercial vehicles and trailers.

You will travel to customer locations, perform diagnostics, and ensure safety and quality in every installation. Prior experience with Samsara/Geotab is preferred, and a valid U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers.
• 21+ years of age.
• Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience preferred.
• Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms preferred.
• 12V/24V electrical experience preferred.
• Commercial truck or trailer experience preferred.
• ADAS scanning or calibration experience preferred.
• ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

Responsibilities
