Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a mobile installation technician to install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, and related fleet equipment on light‑duty and commercial vehicles. You will read basic wiring diagrams, perform 12V/24V wiring, route and secure wiring, test system functionality, and document installations with photos and notes.

Travel to customer sites is required, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and right‑first‑time service.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
Professional communication and customer service skills
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers
21+ years of age
Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience preferred
Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms preferred
12V/24V electrical experience preferred
Commercial truck or trailer experience preferred
ADAS scanning or calibration experience preferred
ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications preferred
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions

Responsibilities
