Job summary

Pep Boys in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services such as oil changes, tire mounting and balancing, and tire repairs while delivering excellent customer service.

You will assist with inspections, maintain a clean shop, and support fellow technicians. A valid driver's license, HS diploma or GED, and willingness to learn are required; 18+ and ability to work days, nights, weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Passion for a career as an Automotive Technician.
• Eager to learn and competitive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Stay current with new technical information through formal training.
• Perform oil changes and filter changes.
• Install and maintain tires and perform tire repairs.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs; repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades; stock/unload tires.
• Assist other technicians and communicate mechanical issues to management.
