Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services such as oil changes, tire installation and maintenance, and to assist with other service tasks while delivering an excellent customer experience.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and a willingness to work flexible hours including days, nights, holidays and weekends. Pre-employment background check is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as an automotive technician.
• Eager to learn and motivated to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information in training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and adhere to safety and policy rules.
