KPIT seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to deliver safety work products (HARA, FSC, SRS) for automotive embedded systems. You will support feature impact analyses, align requirements across the lifecycle, and collaborate with systems engineers to merge Gherkin scenarios for safety and technical needs.

Required are ISO 26262 familiarity, HARA/FTA knowledge, and hands-on MBSE tools (MagicDraw, SysML). Python scripting aids analysis and workflow efficiency; strong cross-functional collaboration is

Qualifications

• Functional Safety engineering experience for automotive embedded systems.
• ISO 26262 work-product knowledge, including HARA, FSC, SRS and FTA.
• Hands-on experience with MagicDraw, SysML, MBSE and GitHub-based collaboration.
• Python scripting capability for analysis, checks or workflow efficiency.
• Ability to work closely with feature systems, software, validation and cross-functional engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Safety work products including HARA, FSC, SRS and related safety engineering deliverables.
• Support impact analyses for assigned Body features and ensure safety implications are captured clearly.
• Collaborate with Feature Systems Engineers and Systems Simulation & Robustness Engineers to develop or merge Gherkin scenarios for safety and technical requirements.
• Support requirement refinement, traceability and technical alignment across the feature development lifecycle.
• Contribute to reviews and closure of Functional Safety actions with clear evidence and rationale.
