Job summary

Dorle Controls LLC in Farmington Hills, MI seeks a Functional Safety Engineer to advance ISO 26262 work products for automotive embedded systems. You will deliver HARA and FTA deliverables and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes model-based systems engineering, SysML, MBSE, and GitHub collaboration to ensure safety and system integrity throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in functional safety for automotive embedded systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 including HARA and FTA.
• Model-based approaches using SysML/MBSE and tools like MagicDraw.
• Ability to collaborate with feature systems, software, validation and cross-functional engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Safety work products including HARA, FTA and related safety engineering deliverables.
• Support impact analyses for assigned SW features and ensure safety implications are captured clearly.
• Collaborate with Feature Systems Engineers and Systems Simulation & Robustness Engineers to develop or merge Gherkin scenarios for safety and technical requirements.
• Support requirement refinement, traceability and technical alignment across the feature development lifecycle.
• Contribute to reviews and closure of Functional Safety actions with clear evidence and rationale.
