Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks a senior Functional Safety Manager to lead FSM systems, define toolchains and templates, and drive cross‑functional safety across automotive domains. You will own HARA, Safety Goals, and FSC/TSC work streams for Powertrain, Chassis, and ADAS, while coordinating with hardware and software teams.

The role requires 7+ years in automotive engineering with 4+ years in ISO 26262 environments, and mandatory ISO 26262 certification.

Qualifications

ISO 26262 Functional Safety Professional/Expert certification mandatory.
Preferred UL 4600 and SOTIF credentials.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident with immediate employment eligibility.
7+ years in automotive engineering, with 4+ years in ISO 26262 environments.
BS/MS in EE, CS, ME or related field.

Responsibilities

Establishing and owning Functional Safety Management (FSM) system, defining toolchains, processes, and templates.
Leading Item Definition, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), and setting Safety Goals for vehicle systems (Powertrain, Chassis, ADAS).
Deriving Functional and Technical Safety Concepts (FSC/TSC) and aligning hardware/software engineering teams.
Managing suppliers by defining safety requirements and auditing third-party components against ASIL targets.
Compiling comprehensive Safety Cases to justify public road safety readiness.
Building, training, and mentoring a growing portfolio of safety engineers.
