Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) invites applications for an Intern - Automotive (Summer 2027) in Ann Arbor, MI. This seasonal position offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with typical business hours 8am–5pm. Enrollees may carry no more than 2 college classes and must be able to travel for field work.

The role supports field investigations, research, report preparation, and lab activities within a multidisciplinary consulting team. Prior lab or internship experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• No prior professional experience required; lab/research/internship experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated interest in forensic engineering, failure analysis, or litigation support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations and site inspections under supervision.
• Perform engineering research, data collection, and analysis to support projects.
• Assist in preparation of technical reports and documents.
• Participate in laboratory testing and analysis activities.
• Support consultants in organizing and analyzing evidence and technical data.
• Attend client meetings and internal technical reviews.
