Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) invites applications for an Intern - Automotive (Fall 2027) in Ann Arbor, MI. The role is a seasonal, full-time 40-hour-per-week internship with responsibilities across field investigations, data collection, and technical report preparation.

Ideal candidates have a 3.3+ GPA, interest in forensic engineering or failure analysis, and no prior professional experience required. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel for field work are required.

Qualifications

• 3.30 GPA or higher, preferred.
• No prior professional experience required; laboratory, research, or internship experience a plus.
• Demonstrated interest in forensic engineering, failure analysis, or litigation support.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be available to travel for field work.

Responsibilities

• Assists with field investigations and site inspections under the supervision of experienced consultants.
• Performs engineering research, data collection, and analysis to support ongoing projects.
• Assists in preparation of technical reports and documents.
• Participates in laboratory testing and analysis activities.
• Supports consultants in organizing and analyzing evidence and technical data.
• Attend client meetings and internal technical reviews as appropriate.
• Internships with ESi are expected to be full-time, 40-hours per week, from Monday to Friday (Business hours are from 8am-5pm).
• If you are also enrolled in college – we require that you take no more than 2 classes during your employment semester with ESi and are able to work a minimum of 32 hours per week within business hours.
