Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Stellantis projects in Michigan. The role involves leading exterior door latching system design, development, packaging, and release, collaborating with Vehicle Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Tier-1 suppliers.

Strong DFMEA and DVP&R execution is required. You will utilize NX/CATIA V5 for component packaging and support production launches with root-cause analysis at assembly plants.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5+ years automotive product engineering experience.
• Experience with closures, latches, magnets, or soft-close mechanisms preferred.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, GD&T, injection molding, mechanism dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, packaging, and release of exterior door latching systems.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Assembly Plants, and suppliers.
• Develop DFMEAs and DVP&R to resolve NVH, water-sealing, or robustness issues.
• Support production with root-cause analysis and launch activities at manufacturing plants.
