Job summary

Molex CMS product team in Grand Blanc, Michigan is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and launch manufacturing processes for the large pipeline of new products we are bringing in our plants across the globe. Ideal candidate is a smart, quick, positive, and confident collaborator.

You will set the manufacturing strategy, design the production processes, and manage tooling and automation suppliers to deliver lines and tooling.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Control System, Manufacturing Engineering or similar Engineering disciplines.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing process design, preferably electronics manufacturing.
Experience with suppliers to build automated equipment and understand automation components.
Ability to understand customer technical needs, specifications and automotive architecture.
Willingness to travel up to 20–30%, including potential international travel.

Responsibilities

Understand project proposals and participate in DFA/DFM activities with cross functional teams.
Develop manufacturing strategy based on volumes, design, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with equipment vendors through design, development, testing and qualification.
Participate in equipment design reviews and gather operator feedback.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space, and equipment layout.
Provide manufacturing cost estimates and project planning data.
Advocate for plant feedback within the Business Unit.
