Job summary

Molex in Rochester Hills, MI, is seeking a Mold Process Engineer for the Automotive Division to own mold tooling and process development, impacting quality, cost and launch success.

In this hands-on role, you will lead end-to-end tooling initiatives, apply scientific molding and CAE techniques to reduce lead times, and collaborate with product design, operations and suppliers to deliver production-ready molds on time and under budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in injection molding, mold development and tooling.
• Background in scientific molding principles with hands-on molding experience.
• Experience with tooling systems and design for manufacturability and scrap minimization.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving to improve quality, cost and lead time.
• Experience with CAD/3-D modeling, basic CAE flow analysis, and GD&T familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead new tooling and mold initiatives including quotes, DFM, approvals, Moldflow validation, and supplier coordination.
• Own end-to-end mold development and qualification, defining criteria and launch readiness.
• Optimize processes using cavity-pressure data and DOE analyses.
• Manage project documentation, schedules, budgets, and milestones with version control.
• Provide technical support and corrective actions with operations and suppliers.
