Summit Truck Bodies LLC. is expanding its workforce and seeks an Automotive Electrical Designer to develop and test electrical systems for service trucks, focusing on wiring, control modules, safety features, and factory automation.

You will ensure efficiency, reliability, and compliance with standards while collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality products. The role requires designing layouts and wiring diagrams using CAD tools like AutoCAD and Inventor, performing load calculations,

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science preferred.
• Experience in ISO 9001 certified production preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault and NetSuite preferred.
• Experience with Bill of Materials preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Able to pass background check, physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD software with a focus on DC circuits.
• Select appropriate electrical components and equipment for projects.
• Train technicians to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Perform load calculations and power studies to determine electrical needs.
• Identify and resolve design issues during the project life cycle.
• Create wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts that meet standards and specifications.

We are looking for an Automotive Electrical Designer to create, develop, and test the electrical systems for our service trucks, focus on wiring, control modules, safety features, and factory automation to ensure efficiency, reliability, and adherence to standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams using CAD software with a primary emphasis on DC circuits.
• Choose appropriate electrical components, materials, and equipment for the project.
• Ability to discuss and train/teach technicians how to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Perform load calculations and power studies to determine electrical needs.
• Identify and resolve design issues during the project life cycle.
• Create precise wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts that meet standards and specifications.
• Daily tasks to include using CAD software (like AutoCAD and Inventor), modifying circuits, ensuring code compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
• Requires frequent standing, sitting, bending or stooping for prolonged periods.
• Ability to communicate by providing verbal/written feedback in a professional manner.
• Normal range of hearing and vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Associate of Applied Science preferred
• Experience working in a ISO 9001 certified production facility preferred
• Experience in AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault and NetSuite preferred
• Experience with Bill of Materials preferred
• Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
