Job summary

ARBOC in Middlebury, IN is seeking an Intermediate Engineer with 2–5 years of vehicle design experience to support production through complete engineering tasks and design releases. Proficiency in SolidWorks is required; Zuken Wire Harness Design is a plus.

You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet customer specifications and timelines. Responsibilities include creating drawings, releasing ECNs, and providing cross-departmental engineering support.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Engineer degree or engineering college graduate.
• 2–5 years of vehicle design experience preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD.
• Experience with Zuken Wire Harness Design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering design tasks and project assignments supporting production.
• Coordinate tasks to meet schedules considering vendor and production lead times.
• Create designs meeting customer specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
• Develop drawing packages and layouts to meet design criteria.
• Assist with testing to meet contractual obligations.
• Release engineering drawings and ECNs.
• Provide engineering support to production, QA, CS, and other departments.
• Interact with vendors and customers on design issues, ensuring vendor approvals.
• Check engineering documents as authorized by Engineering Manager.
• Travel up to 5%.

Job description

• Complete Engineering design tasks and projects assignments which support production activities.
• Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time speed on each task.
• Creates Engineering designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
• Works with engineers to develop drawing packages and layouts to ensure compliance with design criteria.
• Assist engineers with completion of and or initiates-controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
• Completes Technical Engineering drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ECNs – Engineering Change Notices.
• Provide Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as needed.
• Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
• Check Engineering documents as authorized by Engineering Manager.
• Any other duties as necessary

Education

Intermediate Engineer – Engineering College Graduate.

Minimum 2 to 5 years of vehicle design experience – preferred.

Experience/Knowledge

• SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD modeling software
• Zuken Wire Harness Design is a plus
