Summit Truck Bodies in Wathena, KS, is seeking an Automotive Electrical Designer to create, develop, and test electrical systems for service trucks, focusing on wiring, control modules, safety features, and factory automation.

Candidates should have an Associate of Applied Science, experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault and NetSuite, and strong ability to read schematics and perform load calculations within an ISO 9001 production setting.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science preferred.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault and NetSuite preferred.
• Experience in an ISO 9001 certified production facility preferred.
• Experience with Bill of Materials preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams with a primary emphasis on DC circuits.
• Choose appropriate electrical components, materials, and equipment for the project.
• Ability to discuss and train technicians on reading and understanding electrical schematics.
• Perform load calculations and power studies to determine electrical needs.
• Identify and resolve design issues during the project life cycle.
• Create precise wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts that meet standards and specifications.
• Daily CAD work using AutoCAD and Inventor; modify circuits and ensure code compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
