Job summary

Summit Truck Bodies is seeking a production drafter to create new product design layouts and drawings for parts, weldments and assemblies in a fast-paced environment. The role requires drafting fundamentals, CAD experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, and a background in metal fabrication.

You will revise existing drawings, build Bills of Materials, and work with Engineering and Sales to interpret project direction.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Drafting fundamentals knowledge with drafting experience.
• Experience in metal fabrication is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare new product design layouts, parts, weldments and assemblies.
• Revise and correct existing drawings.
• Create bills of materials and parts lists for assemblies.
• Assign part numbers per guidelines.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Sales to meet project direction.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
