Job summary

ARBOC Specialty Vehicles, LLC in Indiana is seeking a capable Intermediate Engineer to support production with engineering design tasks. You will work on drawing packages, layouts, and tests to ensure designs meet customer specs and manufacturing capabilities.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of vehicle design experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools, with knowledge of harness design a plus. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are required.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Engineer with 2–5 years of vehicle design experience preferred.
• Experience using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software; knowledge of harness design is a plus.
• Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills; able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering design tasks supporting production activities.
• Coordinate tasks to meet schedules, considering vendor and production lead times.
• Develop drawings and layouts to meet design criteria with engineering teams.
• Assist with testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations and ensure reliability.
• Prepare engineering drawings and ECN-controlled release documents.

Job description

• Complete Engineering design tasks and projects assignments which support production activities.
• Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time speed on each task.
• Creates Engineering designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
• Works with engineers to develop drawing packages and layouts to ensure compliance with design criteria.
• Assist engineers with completion of and or initiates-controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
• Completes Technical Engineering drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ECNs – Engineering Change Notices.
• Provide Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as needed.
• Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
• Check Engineering documents as authorized by Engineering Manager.
• Any other duties as necessary

Education

Intermediate Engineer – Engineering College Graduate.

Minimum 2 to 5 years of vehicle design experience – preferred.

Experience/Knowledge

• SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD modeling software
• Zuken Wire Harness Design is a plus
