Job Summary
The shop dispatcher is the quarterback of any retail automotive service
operation. Scheduling work, promoting efficiency and productivity, and keeping
customers satisfied are keys to a dealership’s success. We will offer the right
shop dispatch candidate a generous pay plan, bonus structure on productivity and a secure future.
Your Daily Work Schedule
- Responsible for promoting exceptional levels of shop efficiency and productivity.
- Schedules shop work to create maximum productivity for all skilled level technicians.
- Responsible for doing all that is necessary for service customer satisfaction.
- Responsible to ensure proper warranty tech time and operation codes are properly used.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining effective communication between the shop and parts department employees.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
- Ensure that assigned work has been performed and the repair order has been completed properly.
- Review scheduled maintenance for all service equipment.
- Review with Service Manager a list of needed service department supplies, repairs, safety policies and daily, weekly workload.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in an automotive dealership service department, preferably as a service dispatcher or Master/A-level technician, with a strong preference for experience in a union shop.
- Proven, stable job history with a documented track record of success.
- Hands-on expertise with Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK dealer management systems.
- Strong communication skills for effective interactions with technicians and customers.
- Comprehensive understanding of service shop scheduling and workload distribution.
- Ability to assign work efficiently to technicians in a structured and organized manner.
- Collaborative team player who works seamlessly with service, parts, and other dealership personnel.
- Consistently responsive to the needs and concerns of the service manager and all service department staff.
