Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician in Texas to inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive systems while delivering outstanding customer service. You will explain findings clearly to customers and coworkers and continuously learn new techniques to stay current with evolving automotive technology.

The role requires prior diagnostic experience, ASE certifications preferred, and the ability to work in a fast-paced shop with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year automotive diagnostic/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, hydraulics, electrical, cooling, suspension, and alignments.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and team members.
• Mentor and train junior technicians as needed.
• Stay updated with automotive technologies through formal training.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Communicate repair needs to store management as issues arise.
