Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a detail associate to clean and buff vehicles, both interior and exterior, on-site. Pay is task-based, with potential for additional compensation such as commissions or incentives based on location.

The role requires a safe driving record, ability to lift light loads, and comfort working in a shop environment. Prior detailing or buffing experience is a plus, with opportunities for holidays and time-off benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred or less than 2 years related work experience.
• Previous detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
• Safe drivers preferred; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Stand, walk, stoop, bend and lift up to 30 pounds; good vision required.

Responsibilities

• Clean interior by removing debris from ashtrays, consoles, seats and trunk areas.
• Remove license plates and writing from windows; disassemble spare tires.
• Wash vehicles with high-pressure washer or car wash; clean engine and battery terminals.
• Detail vehicles, apply dressing, and buff exterior surfaces as needed.
• Vacuum, shampoo and spot-clean carpets and upholstery; adjust seat belts.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and support safety programs.
• Assist with duties including driving vehicles to staging areas on days of sale.
