Job summary

General Motors (GM Design) offers a 2027 internship program in Creative Design Interiors and Exteriors. The role requires a portfolio and pursues students in Industrial/Product/Transportation/Automotive Design, graduating 2027–2029.

Onsite work in Pasadena, CA or Warren, MI, with a full-time summer schedule (40 hours/week). The internship provides a monthly salary of $6,100, relocation stipend for eligible students, and benefits including paid GM holidays and the vehicle discount program.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or Automotive Design.
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.

Responsibilities

• Create new and unique design concepts.
• Make perspective sketches and renderings to communicate innovative design ideas.
• Develop two- and three-dimensional mock-ups of proposed design solutions.
• Work with studio engineers, modelers, other designers, and fabrication personnel in the development of a scale model.
