Job summary

General Motors invites talented design students to join the intern program in onsite roles in Pasadena, CA or Warren, MI. You will develop concepts, renderings, and scale models under guidance from design engineers and makers.

The role emphasizes strong sketching, 3D fundamentals in Blender/Sub-D/Alias, and portfolio submissions. Start dates May/June 2027, full-time summer schedule, with relocation stipend eligibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or Automotive Design.
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.

Responsibilities

• Create new and unique design concepts.
• Make perspective sketches and renderings sufficient to communicate innovative design ideas.
• Develop two- and three-dimensional mock-ups of proposed design solutions.
• Collaborate with studio engineers, modelers, other designers, and fabrication personnel.

Education

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Transportation Design, or Automotive Design

Must be graduating Dec 2027–May 2029

Willing to work full-time 40 hours/week during summer
