Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as an automotive mechanic, diagnostician, or instructor including diagnosis and repair of OBD2 systems.
• Trainee levels require four years (Trainee 2) or three years (Trainee 1) of such experience.

• Investigates and resolves consumer complaints involving automotive services.
• Works with licensees to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
• Gathers, labels and prepares evidence for proceedings.
• Prepares narrative case reports and makes recommendations; may testify at hearings or serve as expert witness.
• Conducts inspections and program audits of automotive facilities to ensure compliance.
