Job summary

SL Tennessee is seeking an Assembly Supervisor to oversee production resources, schedules and equipment in Clinton, TN. You will supervise staff, participate in analyzing rejections, and ensure on-time production with adherence to quality standards.

The role requires 2-3 years of automotive supervisory experience, a college degree preferred, and the ability to lead continuous improvement and Lean initiatives while maintaining safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 year supervisory experience in automotive environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Interact with hourly employees and management.
  • Basic understanding of sound inventory practices.
  • Complete assigned projects on time in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate ethical characteristics and behaviors.
  • Perform tasks using Microsoft software; Word, Excel etc.
  • Basic Applied statistics.
  • Quality and environmental systems.
  • Handling of chemical substances and hazardous residues.
  • Control of spilled substances.
  • Handling of equipment against fire.
  • Emergency programs.
  • Lean Manufacturing and its tools.
  • Problem solving techniques.
  • Leadership skills, communication, human relations.
  • Supervision.
  • Legal aspects.
  • Internal work regulations.
  • Basic process tools : PFMA’s and PCP’s.
  • Quality criteria.
  • Quality and environmental procedures and instructions of the area Continuous improvement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the production department resources, schedules & equipment.
  • Supervise employees.
  • Analyze product rejections and assure completion of the production schedule.
  • Provide support and training to employees.
  • Participate in problem solving teams.
  • Monitor quality compliance and environmental standards.
  • Ensure adherence to area procedures and instructions.
  • Monitor process reliability.
  • Address customer complaints.
  • Provide employee evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Take corrective actions for production performance indicators.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs in the production area.
  • Use business systems for decision making and accuracy.
  • Implement inventory and scrap reduction projects.
  • Comply with quality and environment standards.
  • Know basic ergonomics.
  • Identify and act on safety risks and concerns.
  • Handle changes in processes affecting the area.
