Job summary

Amphenol Corporation, through its Amphenol Communications Solutions division in Nashua, NH, is seeking a Tooling and Automation Engineer. The role focuses on developing tooling and assembly processes for high-speed, high-volume manufacturing, collaborating with product development, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver robust automation solutions.

You will work on tooling specifications, process layouts, DFMs/FMEAs, and safety considerations while driving improvements in efficiency and yield

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of Creo or SolidWorks for tooling design and documentation.
• Experience with automation, PLCs, vision systems and electrical controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document assembly tooling for new/existing products, including scope of work and validation.
• Develop and document assembly processes, spare parts lists, and preventive maintenance plans.
• Define process steps, material handling and process layouts; support product development and supply chain.
• Prepare equipment specifications and work with teams to deploy tooling.
• Collaborate with IE and product teams on DFMs, FMEAs and risk assessments.
• Evaluate safety and occupational health aspects for processes.
• Propose cost reduction initiatives for tooling and assembly processes.
