Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. is seeking an Automation Technician in Auburn, NY to keep automation equipment running productively through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and project work.

You will interact with the Automation group and other manufacturing teams on daily tasks and improvements. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, and mentoring junior technicians while supporting equipment upgrades and process optimization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus manufacturing experience is required.
• College degree in Automation related field is preferred.
• Experience with high-speed precision manufacturing equipment and inspection systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, inspections, and routine troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and automation issues including sensors, switches, and motors.
• Maintain automated equipment and coordinate corrective actions on worn components.
• Set up and verify operation of EOAT systems, automation cells, and robotic equipment.
• Train and mentor lower-level technicians and support their development.
