Job summary

EMCOR Services Mesa Energy guides and maintains advanced automation for HVAC and energy systems. The Automation Technician III inspects, tests, and repairs complex control devices, diagnosing failures and implementing corrective actions.

They mentor junior technicians, analyze system design, and develop scopes for controls projects. A strong background in electrical/mechanical engineering and HVAC controls is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field experience.
• 8+ years direct automation experience with control systems and programming.
• Working knowledge of HVAC control systems (JCI, Honeywell, Niagara).
• Ability to interface with customers at supervisory/management level.
• Engineering knowledge in electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with control system architecture, programming, or maintenance.
• Good computer skills and controls networking knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, adjust, and repair automation devices and systems.
• Diagnose causes of electrical/mechanical malfunctions and perform maintenance.
• Coach and mentor other automation technicians.
• Understand design intent of mechanical equipment and systems (Chiller, Boiler, AHU, pumping, etc.).
• Develop scope of work for controls implementation and monitor for issues.
• Interface with installation/maintenance teams to execute changes.
