Job summary

Kenco Group is hiring an Automation Technician II in Joliet, IL to maintain and troubleshoot AGV/AMR/ASRS automation systems. You will work with operations and maintenance to ensure reliability and minimize downtime, contributing to continuous improvement and safety.

The role requires 2–5 years of mechanical experience with automated systems, strong PLC and electrical knowledge, and the ability to train staff on preventive maintenance. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2–5 years of mechanic experience with automated systems and conveyors
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge
• Ability to troubleshoot multi-system equipment
• Safe operation of lifting and mobile equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on automation equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues promptly
• Collaborate with operations to improve efficiency and throughput
• Assist installation and commissioning of automation components
• Maintain accurate repair records and spare parts inventory
• Train staff on basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
