Job summary

First Solar is seeking an entry level Automation Technician in Perrysburg, Ohio. This role involves supporting manufacturing operations, assisting with equipment implementation, and programming PLC/HMI. The successful candidate will work a rotating PM shift from 6 PM to 6:10 AM.

Qualifications include an Associate/Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines or equivalent experience and skills in electrical control systems, AutoCAD, and problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.

This position offers a salary range of $26.97 - $38.97 hourly with no required travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience.
• Ability to interpret data and make reasonable conclusions to assist in trouble-shooting process.
• Good understanding/knowledge of reading electrical/mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Assist with coordination of new equipment installation and MES integration events.
• Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.

Skills

Ability to work independently

Trouble-shooting electrical/electronic control systems

Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD

Good communication skills

Understanding of programming Rockwell PLCs

Basic understanding of SQL Database

Education

Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering

5+ years verifiable experience in a related field

Tools

Rockwell Automation Logix platform
