First Solar, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Automation Technician to support manufacturing operations, assist with equipment implementation, startup, PLC/HMI programming, and troubleshooting of control systems on a rotating 36/48 hour schedule.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience or an associate/bachelor's in Electrical/Robotics/Industrial Controls; no degree accepted with 5+ years experience. The candidate will work AM or PM shifts and may travel to other sites for training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience.
• Preference for Associate/Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Robotics, Industrial Controls, or Electronic Engineering.
• No Degree option requires 5+ years verifiable experience in related fields (semiconductors, automotive, etc.).
• Able to interpret data and troubleshoot control systems.
• Experience reading electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Proficient with AutoCAD for electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Knowledge of Rockwell Logix PLCs and FactoryTalk View ME/HMI.

Responsabilités

• Support manufacturing facilities and remote sites as needed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems.
• Assist with new equipment installation and MES integration.
• Maintain and update electrical drawings; document changes.
• Implement software changes as directed by Controls Engineering.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and communicate effectively.
