Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an Operations Engineer to support our fully automated distribution centers. You will use PLCs and robotics controls to repair/replace control devices, operate automation software and troubleshoot issues, with a focus on reliability and cost reduction.

Responsibilities include maintaining SLAM readiness, managing repair parts, and implementing a reliability-based maintenance program across robots, conveyors, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a maintenance/operations role preferred.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness of SLAM at fully automated locations.
• Manage repair parts inventory and ordering for SLAM.
• Implement and oversee reliability-based maintenance functions.
• Inspect and monitor equipment; apply maintenance best practices.
• Oversee robots, conveyors, and other automation equipment.
• Review logs to verify proper equipment operation; report malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance per CMMS and manufacturer guidelines.
• Coordinate repairs and PMs according to warranties and specs.
• Maintain tools and supplies for all related automation.
• Supervise contractor activities during demonstrations or training.
