Job summary

Gifthealth, an Ohio-based healthcare technology company, is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated systems on the production floor. You will work with Automation Specialists, engineering, and pharmacy operations to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality, compliant performance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting PLCs and robotics, and documenting activities in CMMS.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical/vocational certification in automation, electronics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or related field (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field (Preferred)
  • Automation, electrical, or PLC-related technical certification (e.g., Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens) (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (Preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience maintaining or troubleshooting automated production or material handling equipment (Required)
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, or industrial control systems (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting principles; preventive maintenance practices (Required)
  • Knowledge of LOTO and electrical safety practices (Required)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing environments (Preferred)
  • Attention to detail and documentation skills, including CMMS use (Required)
  • Ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols (Required)
  • Communication and collaboration skills with technicians, specialists, and engineers (Required)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth environments (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and calibration of automated fulfillment equipment and robotics
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Follows Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc-flash, and other electrical safety procedures when servicing automated equipment
  • Supports installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated equipment and system upgrades
  • Documents maintenance activities, equipment performance, and downtime incidents using the CMMS
  • Tracks spare parts usage and flags reorder needs to support parts availability
  • Partners with Automation Specialists and Engineers to escalation complex issues and support root cause analysis
  • Assists with training staff on proper use and basic troubleshooting of automated systems
  • Monitors equipment KPIs (uptime, error rates) and flags trends to the Automation Manager
  • Follows all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures during equipment operation and maintenance
