Job summary

NewCold Melbourne is seeking a motivated Maintenance/Automation Technician to perform a broad range of maintenance and repair activities in our warehouse operations. You will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency, maintaining a professional on-site culture and adhering to health and safety standards.

Your role includes preventative maintenance on conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems, and control systems, with emphasis on reducing downtime and optimizing performance in a cold

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in industrial maintenance or related field.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors and related equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems including low- and high-voltage 480V and 3-phase motors.
• Experience with PLCs is a plus; familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining equipment according to supplier guidelines (conveyors, cranes, refrigeration systems, doors, and other mechanical systems).
• Performing planned preventive maintenance and repairs with minimal impact to operations.
• Communicating downtime information to Planners and System Operators.
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Coordinating with planners to schedule repairs with minimal operational impact.
• Setting up and operating machine tools to repair or fabricate parts as required.
